Nicholas G. Kalipolites, 92, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late George and Athena (Marcoux) Kalipolites. Raised and educated in Manchester, Nicholas was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, Class of 1943. Nicholas earned his Associate's degree from the NH School of Accounting and Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire. Nicholas had been employed as an Auditor for the State of NH for over 20 years prior to retirement.

An honorably discharged veteran, Nicholas proudly served his country during World War II as a Carpenter's Mate, Third Class in the United States Navy, Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit #588, Pacific Theatre, stationed in Hawaii and as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force until 1955.

A dedicated husband, father, pappou, brother, uncle and friend, Nicholas was the pillar of strength for his family. He cherished time spent with his family and dear friends. An avid baseball fan and player, proudly playing in the 1942 American Legion World Series. During the summertime, he enjoyed tending to his rose bushes and fruit trees. He had an affinity for red Mustangs and Chrysler vehicles. In his spare time, Nicholas enjoyed woodworking, playing the mandolin, listening to Greek music, and watching Greek dance videos. He found great joy and companionship in his Springer Spaniels, Freckles, Kali and Buddy. Nicholas will be best remembered for his kind heart, sweet nature and love of family.

Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife, June Kalipolites of Manchester; son, George Kalipolites of Manchester; two daughters, Stephanie Poulette and husband Lucien of Auburn, and Athena "Tina" Gagnon and husband Christopher of Allenstown; grandson, Nicholas "Nick" Gagnon; two step-granddaughters, Amy Poulette and Becky Gelinas; nine step-great grandchildren; brother, Marcus Kalipolites of New York; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and
Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Wednesday, March 21 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. followed by the Trisagion Service at 7:00P.M. His Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St., on Thursday, March 22, at 10:00A.M. Nicholas will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in a springtime Committal Service with Military Honors.
