Nicholas James Patrick McGowan, 25, passed away on July 1, 2026. He was born in Manchester, NH, on July 13, 2000 to Nicole (Kinney) and Shaun McGowan.
Nick grew up in Manchester and graduated from Memorial High School in 2018. He went on to attend Manchester Community College, where he earned an associate degree in Automotive Technologies. From an early age, Nick had a strong curiosity about how things worked. He was the kind of kid who would take something apart just to figure out how to put it back together, a curiosity and natural ability that developed into a passion for working with his hands.
Nick was an exceptional auto mechanic and skilled welder who earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. Whether working on an engine, welding, or from a very young age, teaching himself how to build his own computer. Nick was always working on something, learning something new, and pushing himself to master whatever challenge was in front of him. Nick loved anything with a motor, especially fast cars, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and side-by-sides. He was a talented rider and enjoyed being involved in local car communities and attending car events.
Nick enjoyed traveling and made many memories with family and friends in places including Miami, Las Vegas, New York City, and Ocean City. He loved spending time with the people closest to him, whether traveling, going out to eat with his family, or simply being together.
Nick also had an incredible love for his three dogs, Tyson, Gracie, and Maya. Spending time with them brought him so much happiness, and each held a special place in his heart. He shared an especially close bond with Maya, who was rarely far from his side.
Above all, Nick was deeply and immeasurably loved by his family. He was not simply a son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin; he was an irreplaceable part of the lives of those who loved him most. His family’s world was brighter, louder, and fuller because Nick was in it. He was loved fiercely, completely, and unconditionally, and there was never a moment when he was not surrounded by that love. The bond Nick shared with his family was at the center of his life, and the memories they made together will be treasured for the rest of their lives.
Nick will be remembered for his sense of humor, his loyalty, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. He had a way of lighting up a room and making even the hardest days easier with his laughter. When someone needed him, Nick was there without question or hesitation. He lived life fully and on his own terms, leaving a lasting impact on his family, his many friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Members of his family surviving include his mother, Nicole Kinney, and his father, Scott Kinney; his biological father, Shaun McGowan, his sister, Mikaela McGowan; his grandmother, Adrianne Robertson (Chip); two uncles, Terry Robertson II (Crystal) and Craig Robertson (Holly); and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Nick was predeceased by his grandfather, Terry Robertson; great-grandfather, Patrick Zullo; and great-grandmother, Beverly Zullo.
Nick’s life was cut far too short, and the depth of his loss cannot be put into words. To his family, Nick was one of the greatest gifts of their lives and losing him has left a space that can never be filled. But the love they have for him did not end with his passing, and it never will. His spirit, laughter, loyalty, and love for life will remain a part of them always. Nick was here for 25 years, and in that time, he was loved more deeply than he could have ever known. He will be carried in the hearts of his family and all who loved him for the rest of their lives.
