Nicholas J. Ranfos, 72, of 435 Union Street, died at his residence on October 18, 2001. He was born in Manchester on July 1, 1929, the son of John J. and Alice (Fournier) Ranfos, Jr., and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a US Army and Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had worked at Bernard Tire Company for over twenty years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion. Family members include two daughters, Denise ''Cookie'' Antonucci of Manchester and Janet Ranfos of Londonderry; a son, Kenneth N. Ranfos of Bedford; five grandchildren; two sisters, Muriel Marcotte and Ida Stanton, both of Manchester; five brothers, Angelo Ranfos, Ernest Ranfos and John Ranfos, all of Manchester; James Ranfos of Londonderry and Robert Ranfos of Fremont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Horizon Soup Kitchen, 199 Manchester St., Manchester, NH 03103.
