Norman E. Lafond, Sr. 72, of Goffstown, NH died on Friday, February 16, 2024 at his residence in Goffstown, NH.  

Mr. Lafond was born on September 9, 1951, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Adrien H. and Arline (Desmarais) Lafond. He resided in Goffstown, NH since 1995, but was a lifelong resident of Manchester, NH.

He graduated from Austine School, Brattleboro, VT then continued his education at the Andover Institute of Business as he graduated in 1973 with a degree in Management and Data Processing. Again in 1976, at the Andover College where he graduated with a degree in Computer Science.

In 1973, he worked for Sanders, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems for over 35 years as a network engineer. He retired in 2008. He also was a sub teacher for Manchester Deaf Program for the deaf and hard of hearing for 9 years.

He was involved in many organizations:

  • He was the Executive of the New Hampshire Association (NHAD) from 1985 to 2018.
  • He was the president , vice president, treasurer and board member of the New Hampshire Association (NHAD) since 1973.
  • He was the treasurer, NH CYO board member and a basketball coach for over 30 years
  • He was the CYO HS Coordinator since 1997.
  • He was a long time Chair, Vice Chair and board member of the Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Inc. (NHDHHS) since 2001.
  • He was a former basketball coach and Athletic Director for the West Side Catholic School back in the 1990’s.
  • He was the scorekeeper for the American Post 79 as the team won the state championship in 1995, as his son, Norm, Jr. played with the team.
  • He was also a member of both third and fourth degree Knights of Columbus in Goffstown and the Nashua area.

Some of his favorite sports of course, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed watching his grandson’s baseball games both AAU and Little League. 

Members of his family include; his son, Norman E. Lafond, Jr. of Goffstown, NH, and his grandchildren, Adam, Harper and Hailey Lafond, all of Goffstown, NH; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private.   

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Norman’s name be made to Northeast Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services (NDHHS) 56 Old Suncook Road, Suite 6, Concord, NH  03301.
