Nuvia Milagro Fuentes de Montes, 80, of Manchester NH, passed away on December 17, 2020. She was born in El Salvador on December 7th, 1940 to the late Amilcar & Edelmira (Bonilla) Fuentes. She was married to her best friend and husband of 57 years, Manuel De Jesus Montes, with whom she raised and created a loving family.
Nuvia lived most of her life in El Salvador and immigrated to New Hampshire in the 1990's. She worked at the Purtian Backroom for 20 years and touched many lives. Her loving personality will resonate with those that were blessed to know her. She was often referred to as, "Mama", due to her motherly mannerisms. Nuvia was a woman of many talents but her main passion was sewing. In El Salvador at the age of 15 she began sewing, this passion was carried on throughout her whole life. Nuvia's last sewing projects were making and donating thousands of face masks to hospitals, nursing homes, friends and family. Nuvia also enjoyed cooking her native foods. Her tamales were her specialty and she took pride by sharing with her loved ones.
Nuvia was motherly to everyone that she knew. She will always be remembered as a generous and selfless person who would do anything for those in need. Nuvia also loved to travel, especially back to her homeland, El Salvador and she paid many visits to her daughter in Mexico. She also had the privilege of visiting many countries around the world throughout her life. She traveled hand clasped with her husband and family by her side. She was loved by many. Nuvia loved her family immensely, and will be deeply missed by all of the lives she touched.
Nuvia has now joined her parents Amilcar & Edelmira Fuentes; her beloved Grandma, Elosia Bonilla; her brother Rene Bonilla; brother Hugo Fuentes and sister Loida Fuentes in heaven. She is survived by her loving husband Manuel De Jesus Montes; 2 sons Moises & Franklin Montes; 4 daughters Morena Cordero, Daisy Montes, Mayra Montes, Nora Montes; her 5 grandchildren Moises, Emely, Genesis, Francisco & Brighid. She is survived by her two brothers Amilcar Fuentes and Carlos Fuentes; her four sisters; Abigail Vilcapoma, Isabel Bran, Carmen Otero, and Sonia Urbina. Nuvia was also a devoted christian. Her family knows that she is in heaven with her Lord and savior.
Nuvia was laid to rest at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, NH on December 22nd 2020.
