Olga Poloczanska Taylor, 94, of Gilford New Hampshire passed away peacefully September 10, 2016 following a period of declining health.
Olga was born in Boston Massachusetts on July 5, 1922 daughter of the late John and Mary Mayder Poloczanski. She was raised in Chelsea and graduated high school from the local public schools. After high school Olga worked at a local cigar manufacturing company then at United Carr Fastener in Cambridge Massachusetts. She married Harry Basil Taylor on June 6th 1948 and they moved to Billerica Massachusetts to raise a family.
Ten years ago Olga moved to Gilford Knolls Two at 41 Potter Hill Road, Gilford New Hampshire where she enjoyed being with her new close friends and family.
In earlier years Olga (aka Toots) enjoyed bowling at the Moose Club and was also a past Commander of the Billerica Chapter 47 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAV). She enjoyed the Red Sox, the Patriots games, bingo and parties at "The Home" and a good fried haddock dinner with fries.
Olga is survived by her sons; Wayne R. Taylor and wife Gail of New Hampshire; Paul S. Taylor and wife Zada of Tennessee; and Brian F. Taylor of Massachusetts. Her grandchildren; Paul J. Taylor and wife Cari of Florida; Rebecca Langdon and husband Larry of Florida; Shawn Jackson and wife Barbara of New Hampshire; Christopher Taylor of Tennessee. Her great grandchildren: Patrick and Britney Jackson, Kaylee and Courtney Langdon, Adam, and Seth Taylor.
In addition to her parents, Olga was predeceased by her husband, Harry B Taylor, her son Donald R. Taylor, her brother Anthony Poloczanski and his wife Anna, sisters-in-law Eleanor Wilson and Gloria Massacotte.
Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday September 15th 11am to 1pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street in Boscawen. A memorial service will be held at 12:30pm in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will follow immediately at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway where Olga and Harry will be laid to rest in a dual committal service. In lieu of flowers donations in Olga's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
