Oscar J. Budd Lessard, 84, of Hooksett, died November 30, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Manchester on August 11, 1921, the son of Henri and Eugenie (Michaud) Lessard and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a World War II Army Veteran, where he served in the Philippians and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He was a professional boxer earlier in his career and fought many times in the Golden Gloves. He was an avid sportsman and excelled in golf, tennis, pool and numerous other sports. He had been a production supervisor for Foster Grant for many years until his retirement in 1981. In His Life: He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rita (Montmarquet) Lessard; three daughters, Gloria J. Moore and her husband Ralph of Hooksett, Sandra R. Brummett and her husband Sam of Lafayette, IN and Cheryl A. Bayerlein and her husband Bob of Virginia, Beach, VA; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was one of ten brothers and sisters and is survived by a brothers, Roger Lessard of Manchester, two sisters, Theresa Dion of Manchester and Lucienne Douville of Hollywood, FL; two half brothers, Paul Lessard and Maurice Lessard, two half sisters, Aurea Levesque and Elaine Boucher, all of Maine; and nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:00 in Holy Rosary Church. Urn burial with military honors will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
