Panagiotis "Ben" Karavasilis, a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and an accomplished engineer, passed away, leaving behind a rich legacy of service, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community.

Panagiotis was born in 1938 in Samos, Greece, to Konstantinos and Angela Karavasilis. He was raised alongside his older brothers, Steve and Manolis, and grew up with a strong sense of values rooted in his Greek heritage and upbringing. Before immigrating to the United States, he proudly served as a military pilot in the Royal Air Force in Greece, cultivating a passion for flight and engineering that would shape the rest of his distinguished career.

To further his education, Panagiotis attended the University of New Hampshire (UNH), earning both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. With a career spanning more than 30 years, he became a respected leader in the defense and aerospace industry, working at Sanders Associates, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems. He held numerous senior management positions within these organizations in the capacity of Director of Airborne Systems in the Surveillance Systems Division, and before leaving for retirement as the Director of the Company’s Design Center. Among the numerous programs he was a part of, he was most proud of being a contributing member of the F-22 Raptor Program.

During his studies at the University of New Hampshire, Panagiotis met the love of his life, Dr. Elpinike "Niki" Karavasilis. Together, they shared a beautiful and enduring marriage of over 62 years. Panagiotis was a deeply devoted family man. He and Niki raised two children, Konstantinos "Taki" and Angela "Loula". Panagiotis took immense joy in his role as a grandfather. He was “ Papouli” to his three cherished grandchildren: Alexus, Maximus, and Athena.

Deeply connected to his Greek heritage and faith, Panagiotis was an active member of civic organizations including the AHEPA and the Pan-Macedonian Association. He was a faithful parishioner at Saint Philip's Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua, NH, Saint George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester, NH, and Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Sarasota, FL.

Panagiotis found his greatest happiness spending quality time with his family. He loved traveling, particularly splitting time between Sarasota, Florida, and Rafina, Greece. Among his fondest memories were sharing time fishing with his grandchildren and bringing the entire family together for annual vacations in Sarasota, Florida.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Elpinke "Niki" Karavasilis; his children, Konstantinos "Taki" Karavasilis and Angela "Loula" Kalampalikis and her husband George Kalampalikis; and his cherished grandchildren, Alexus Kalampalikis, Maximus Kalampalikis, and Athena Karavasilis. He also leaves behind his brothers, Steve Karavasilis and Manolis Karavasilis. Panagiotis’ strength, wisdom, and warm spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis Street, Nashua, NH 03062. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Nashua, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis Street, Nashua, NH 03062, in memory of Panagiotis.
