Paniota "Penny" Zoukis, 73, of Manchester died February 1, 2003, at Catholic Medical Center. She was born in Manchester, NH on July 13, 1929, the daughter of the late Constantinos and Marika (Avgerinos) Stergiou. She was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and of Hesser Business College. She worked at Stergiou's Fruit Store and then, with her husband, operated the Astro Sub and Pizza Shop, until their retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthdox Cathedral and was very active in the Church's GLENDI activities since its inception. She was also active in the Anagennesis Ladies Society and had served as secretary. She was the chairman of the cookbook committee, publishing in 1999. She was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and had served as its secretary and was on the Board of Governors. Penny was a member of Tri-Ortho and a former member of the NOA Auxiliary. She was a Reach to Recovery volunteer for many years. Family members include her husband of 41 years, Michael "Mike" Zoukis of Manchester, two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Leah) Willett of Gloucester, Ma., and Mrs. Raymond (Maria) Letourneau, Jr. of Hampton, NH, a step son, Charles Zoukis of Dracut, Ma., three grandchildren, Nathan Letourneau, Olivia Letourneau and Caleb Willett, a brother, John Stergiou of Manchester, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Tuesday evening from 4 to 8, and the Trisagion Service at 7 PM with Fr. Stylianos Muksuris officiating. The funeral will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Catheral Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Fr. Stylianos Muksuris and Fr. Peter Chamberas, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
