Patricia A. Goodwin

Patricia A. Goodwin, 72, of Bedford died peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 9, 2006.

Pat was born on July 7, 1934 in Amesbury, MA. She was the daughter of Charles and Helen (Boynton) Provencher. She enlisted in the US Naval Reserve in 1954, just after graduating from Goffstown High School. During her four years in the reserve, Pat worked at Pandora Mills and the Amoskeag Bank. In 1968, she began her 16 year career with Ford Aerospace. She worked at the New Boston tracking station, and while there met her husband, Roland. In 1982, the couple transferred to the Island of Guam where they worked for the Guam tracking station for two years. They were again transferred, moving to Santa Maria, California in 1984 where Pat worked at the shuttle launch facility. Upon retiring in 1987, she and her husband relocated to Bedford where they remained until 1990 when Mr. Goodwin was transferred to a tracking station in England. They spent two years abroad, visiting much of Europe until ultimately returning to Bedford.

Pat loved to travel and did so extensively with her husband. They visited many foreign lands through work and leisure. Pat loved the beaches on the Island of Guam and also enjoyed the winters with her husband in Port Charlotte, Florida where the couple developed many close friends from across the country. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and slippers for her family, while reading was also a favorite past time. She had a deep love for dogs, especially her two poodles, Onyx and Topaz. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
