Patricia J. Horton, 86, passed away on February 25, 2024 at the Pleasant View Center in Concord, NH. Born in Windsor, VT on September 9, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George and Esther Mandigo. She was married to the late Vernon Horton, who predeceased her in 1970.
Patricia was raised at Blake’s Home in Springfield, VT. She became an Army wife after marrying her husband, Vernon, and they lived in various places before settling in Nashua and later Manchester. She was an avid reader and she loved animals. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hiking and camping. Above all else, she was the devoted matriarch of a five-generation family and she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her children, Vernon Horton of Arkansas, Betty Murray of Pembroke, and Rose Murray and her husband James of Pembroke; her siblings, Joseph Mandigo and Everett Smart and Linda Wheeler; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was predeceased by her brothers, Lester and William Mandigo.
Patricia’s visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6th from 1-3PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. She will be buried on Thursday, March 7th at 12PM at Saxtons River Cemetery which can be found near the intersection of Westminster Street and Frost Place in Saxtons River (Rockingham), VT.
