Dr. Paul F. Berube, 89, of 105 Dexter Street, died at his residence on February 12, 2009. He was born in Manchester, the son of Cyrias and Anna (Provencher) Berube and had been a resident of the city for most of his life. He was a graduate of West High School and played varsity football and parish league hockey. He graduated from St. Anselm College, Class of 1940, and then attended the University of Montreal Dental School where he graduated in 1944. He was a captain in the Army during World War II where he served in Europe. He was in private dentistry practice on the West Side of Manchester for many years until his retirement in 1984. He also did charitable dental work with Catholic Missionaries on coastal Maine islands. He was a member of the Manchester and the New Hampshire Dental Societies and also the American Dental Association. He was a long-time parishioner of the Parish of the Transfiguration and belonged to the Catholic War Veterans. He was the widow of Suzanne (Girard) who died in 1990. Family members include a daughter, Helen Berube of Eliot, ME; two sons, Charles Berube of New Durham and David Berube of Gilford; two grandchildren, a brother, Dr. Gerald Berube of Manchester; and several nephews and nieces. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:00 AM at the Parish of the Transfiguration. Committal services will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
