With heavy hearts, we announce Paul Eugene Gosselin, Jr., 75, of Manchester, NH, beloved spouse, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully, after a period of declining health, surrounded by his wife and children on Sunday, March 8th.
Born on July 26, 1950, in Newport, Vermont, Paul grew up with strong values that shaped the life he built. Through hard work and dedication, as proven when he became an Eagle Scout, he created a home filled with laughter, music, sarcasm, life lessons, and lasting memories.
More than anything, Paul cherished his family. He will be lovingly remembered by Monique, his wife of 55 years, their three children Michelle Mackey and her husband Toby, Danielle Nightingale and her husband Jonathan and Paul E. Gosselin, III and his wife Allisha, nine grandchildren Samantha, Ryan, Nolan, Parker, Harper, Kaiden, Sydney, Reese and Peyton, his grand-dogs Mya and Paisley and all his extended family.
With his career in the US Navy, he and his family were able to travel and explore other countries and places around the world. After 22 years, he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 and began working for Codem Systems/DRS, a defense contractor, where he retired again after 25+ years. During this time, he received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland and his MBA from Rivier University.
Paul was an avid reader, never leaving home without his favorite kindle, and was a sports enthusiast; he loved watching all the New England sports teams and any round of golf the PGA was playing. He was also a great singer and performed with the Nashua Symphony Choral Society for many years. During his retirement, he and Monique again travelled the world, spent many days on a beach in Florida and played a considerable amount of golf.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 20th at Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematory 243 Hanover Street Manchester, NH from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 21st at St. Anthony of Padua Parish 172 Belmont St, Manchester, NH at 10am. His burial will be held later this summer at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. For more information or to view and on-line memorial, go to www.phaneuf.net
Though we deeply mourn the loss of someone we greatly loved, we celebrate a life well lived. Paul will be forever missed and always remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to donate to send a donation to the Gary Sinise Foundation that serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.
