Paul E. Loan

Paul Loan, age 79, of Canterbury, NH died on December 24, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Eleanor (Lee) Loan. He was born in Boston, MA and was educated at St. John's Catholic School in Cambridge. He was with the Somerville Fire Department for 35 years, retiring in July 1981 as a Lieutenant. He served in the US Marine Corps spending time in Korea. He enjoyed woodworking, stain glass art and is remembered as a jack of all trades. Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his four sons: Edward B. Loan and Walter C. Loan both of Northfield, NH, Paul G. Loan and his wife Elizabeth, Daniel J. Loan and his wife Alicia all of Methuen, MA; a daughter: Lezlee M. O'Connor and her husband James of York, ME; 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law Patsy Loan of Charlestown, MA; a sister-in-law: Virginia Thompson and her husband Daniel of Hyannis, MA. Calling hour will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 12:00pm in the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 172 King Street, Boscawen, NH. A Funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
