Paul A. “Snooks” Martin Jr.
Paul A. “Snooks” Martin Jr., age 61, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Paul was raised in Salem NH and spent the last twenty-six years of his life in Danville, New Hampshire. He was a dedicated employee of Groundhog Landscaping, Inc. in Derry, New Hampshire, where he worked for many years and built lasting friendships.
Paul had a deep love for sports, with golf holding a special place in his heart. As a proud member of the Loose Impediment Golf League, he found great joy, camaraderie, and countless memorable moments on the course. His passion for sports extended beyond golf, as he faithfully followed New England sports teams and enthusiastically cheered on his favorites.
A devoted animal lover, Paul had a special bond with his beloved cats, George, Lucky, and Tucker, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.
Paul also enjoyed traveling, with Aruba being one of his favorite destinations. He loved gathering with family and friends to play cards, especially cribbage and 45s, and never passed up an opportunity to visit a casino for a little fun and excitement.
Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife, Robin Lenz Martin, and his father, Paul A. Martin.
He is survived by his mother, Jill Schiffgens and her husband, Joe Schiffgens, of Salem, New Hampshire; his brother, Bruce R. Martin and his fiancée, Karyn Cullen, of Sandown, New Hampshire; his sister, Michele M. Champy and her husband, Fred Champy, of Rotonda West, Florida; and his sister, Sophia L. Desautels and her husband, Jeff Desautels, of Salem, New Hampshire.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Krystle Champy and Ryan Miller, Ashley Champy, Chad Desautels, Nicole Desautels and her fiancé, Joshua Maroun, Shannon Allaire and her husband, Christian Allaire, and Katie Cullen and Stephen Mague. He additionally leaves behind his cherished great-niece and great-nephew, Kacie and Collin Allaire; his companion, Paula Moloney; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and longtime friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship and presence.
Paul's life was defined not by grand gestures, but by the relationships he nurtured, the laughter he shared, and the simple moments that became treasured memories. He will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to friends, his passion for sports, and the warmth he brought to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, NH. on Thursday, October 22, from 10:00-11:00AM followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00AM.
