Pauline (Lampron) Atkinson, 85, died peacefully at Liberty Commons Skilled Nursing Center in Chatham, MA on February 6, 2025.
Pauline, known to her family and friends as Polly, was born in Manchester NH on September 30, 1939, the daughter of the late Paul and Irene (Morrissette) Lampron.
After graduating from West High School, she went on to earn her secretarial certificate. In her early years, she enjoyed playing guitar, singing in a band, and participating in community theater. Polly worked for many years at AAA of New England, but her true passion was in the world of antiques. She owned and operated several antique stores, building an impressive collection of early colonial and shaker furniture, as well as antique teddy bears.
She cherished her beautiful home in Chichester, NH before spending her retirement years in Florida where she made many friends and wonderful memories. She was a fantastic cook, loved her family deeply and had a special fondness for cats. Known for her spunk, humor and zest for life, Polly brought joy to everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bruce Atkinson of Brewster, MA, her two children, Sean (Julie) McCown of Newmarket, NH and Holly (Emmet) O’Gara of Orleans, MA and her three grandchildren, Molly McCown, Kiley O’Gara and Brennan McCown. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Lampron Jr. in 1996, her sister Lucille Potvin in 2018, and her first husband, William McCown in 2021.
The family will be holding a gathering for friends and family to honor Polly’s life at Phaneuf Funeral Home at 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH on Friday, February 14 at 11:00 AM followed by a cemetery committal service immediately afterwards at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
