Pauline Bisson

Pauline Bisson, 72, of Concord died Sunday, September 30th following a lengthy illness.

Pauline was born in Tewksbury, MA September 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Harold E. Hunt Jr. and Lydianna (Letourneau) Hunt. She lived in Tewksbury and Lowell for several years and then moved to Concord in 1950. She attended Concord High School, met Alfred Bisson in 1957 and they were married in 1959. Prior to having their four sons, Pauline and Alfred were foster parents.

Pauline worked at Sprague Energy for many years as well as King's Department store, but she spent the bulk of her life doing what she loved; providing day care in her home to numerous children. Many of the kids she babysat eventually grew up and brought their own children to Pauline, too. Pauline and her family were well known in the Concord Community, her husband and brother-in-law owning and operating a small but popular local business called Janet's Donuts, which had been handed down to them by their parents.

Pauline enjoyed many things in her life including making and teaching ceramics, listening to Alan Jackson and traveling. She was happiest at the beach or with a house full of family and friends and she loved everyone's children. Her small size belied her incredible strength and determination, raising four sons while her husband worked 14 hour shifts overnight to keep their household running. She had a huge heart and generous spirit; she never turned away anyone in need of anything, often opening her home to someone who needed a place to stay.

Pauline is survived by her husband of 53 years, Alfred L. Bisson; 4 sons, William J. and his wife Shannon of Montana, Edwin A. II and his wife Alice of Andover, Thomas C. and his wife Brandy of Concord, and Dana E. and his wife Kimberly of Concord; brother Warren Fearon of Temple, PA; sisters Geraldine Wood of Chelmsford, MA and Norma Wallace of Concord; 9 grandchildren, Lila of Montana, Matthew and Jason of Andover, Joshua of Goffstown, Ryan and soon-to-be-born Tanner, Kayla, Derek and Kelsey all of Concord; 2 great-grandchildren, Declan and Titus of Andover; her nephew Rudy Lessard, whom she was especially close to; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
