Pauline Blanchard Hamann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on November 29, 2023, at age 89.
She was born to Helen and Joe Blanchard on September 24, 1934, in Bradford, NY. She met John in Oswego, NY and they were married on September 16, 1956. John and Pauline shared 67 wonderful years together.
After graduating from Bradford Central school, she attended James Madison University in Virginia and completed her bachelor’s degree at State University of New York at Oswego. Throughout her career she served the community as a second-grade teacher, accountant, Avon representative, EMT, and social worker.
John and Pauline raised their family of three children in Horseheads, NY. After the children were grown and on their own, they moved to Manchester, NH where they enjoyed over 20 years with family and many friends. Pauline moved to an independent living community in North Venice, FL with husband John in September 2022 and enjoyed taking part in many activities with the other residents.
Pauline is survived by her husband, John, her three children, Eric Hamann (wife Susan), Dean Hamann (wife Sherry) and Patricia Hamann, and her grandchildren Andrew Hamann, Lucas Durrett (wife Marja) & Victoria Durrett. She was predeceased by her grandson Stephen Hamann, her parents, and seven siblings; Theodore Blanchard, Thomas Blanchard, Emma Connelly, Rena Koontz, Virginia Boyko, Frank Blanchard, Mary Koontz.
Pauline loved travelling, ballroom dancing, worshipping at the Lutheran church, ushering and house managing at multiple performing arts centers in NY and NH, medical volunteering at Watkins Glen racetrack, growing a variety of flowers & roses, and bird watching.
Visitation hours for family and friends will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday December 6, 2023, at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium located at 243 Hanover Street Manchester, NH. Interment will be the following day at 10:00 AM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
