Pauline R. Janelle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, in Bedford, NH with family at her side. She was born on August 15, 1923, in Rochester, NH to the late Albert & Dorothy (Theroux) Gagne, and would go on to marry her best friend and partner for life, Maurice Janelle, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.
Pauline dedicated much of her life to two passions: her family and her career as a nurse. Pauline's nursing career was not just a job but a lifelong commitment that defined her essence. She worked as a school nurse for the city of Manchester for many years and touched countless lives with her caring and compassionate nature.
Beyond her professional life, Pauline cherished spending time with her family. She adored spending nights at the lake with her grandchildren and treasured moments surrounded by loved ones. Pauline had a vibrant personality marked by a good sense of humor and a strong will. She was known for her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and would go above and beyond to support them in any way she could.
In her free time, Pauline loved playing tennis, immersing herself in countless books, sailing on her sunfish sailboat and traveling on cruises. Christmas held a special place in Pauline's heart, where she relished any opportunity to bring the family together and create lasting traditions.
Pauline is survived by her son Paul Janelle and his wife Tina, grandchildren Paul, Corey, Andrea, Christopher, Andrew, Laura; as well as seven great-grandchildren with another on the way. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will always remember the impact she had on their lives.
She is preceded in death by her husband Maurice Janelle, daughter Louise Guarino, and twin daughters Therese & Marie Janelle.
Services to celebrate Pauline's life will be held on March 22, 2024: A Memorial Service starting at 12:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium - Hanover in Manchester followed by a Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s memory can be made to Harborside Hospice, whose staff provided lasting comfort and care for Pauline during her final days.
