Miss Pauline E. Lavoie of Manchester, NH, 95, passed away peacefully at Holy Cross Health Center on June 23, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Juliette (Bineau) Lavoie. She is predeceased by three brothers: William, Roger and Robert Lavoie; two sisters: Viviane Labrie and Elaine Roland; her Godson, Richard Labrie.
Pauline was born in Manchester, NH on November 28, 1927 and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from St. George High School for girls in 1945. Pauline worked for Robert’s Express for a short time and then worked for New England Telephone & Telegraph Company. She retired from there as an Operation’s Assistant in 1984 with 39 years of service. Pauline was a parishioner of St. Pius X Parish for 59 year and was Eucharistic Minister for 2 years.
She was a Life Member of New England Telephone Pioneers, member of the Bell Telephone Retirees of NY. She was one of the founders of the Manchester Alliance for the Holy Cross Sisters in 1963 and conducted Bingos for the Sisters until the closing in 1996. She also did volunteer work for the Sisters for many years. Pauline was a member of the Missionary Rosebush for many years with the Sisters of the Precious Blood of Manchester, a life member of the Children of Mary from St. Augustine Parish, a member of the Greater Manchester Bingo Council, a member of the Association Canado Americaine, a member of the Sisters of the Precious Blood Auxiliary of Watertown, NY. She was a supporter of St. Jude Hospital and the U. S. O.
Pauline enjoyed bingo, bowling, the Red Sox, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, conducted bus trips to Foxwoods for many years and enjoyed RV’ing for 16 years.
She leaves behind nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, cousins, many good friends and fondly remembered her little dog “Princess”.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 pm. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Road, in Manchester, NH. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester.
