Peter E. Donegan

Peter E. Donegan, 72, of 6 New Merrimack Road, Bedford, died at his winter residence in Delray Beach Florida on March 28, 2002. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on September 2, 1929, the son of Peter and Bridget (Feeney) Donegan. He had lived in Lenox, MA for 40 years and had resided in Bedford for the past 24 years. For the past five years, he and his wife wintered in Delray Beach, FL. He had worked for Energy North for 20 years until his retirement. Prior to that, he worked for Berkshire Gas for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and enjoyed tennis. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Donegan who died in 1962. Family members include his wife of 53 years, Marie (Norton) Donegan; two sons, Daniel Donegan of OH and William Donegan of Bedford; two daughter, Lynn Rizvi of FL and Mary Beth Franco of Bedford; twelve grandchildren; and several cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM. Due to construction at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM in Ste. Marie Church.
