LITCHFIELD â Peter A. Dufour, 70, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at his residence in Litchfield, NH.
Mr. Dufour was born in Lawrence, MA, on June 8, 1941, the son of the late Hector and Florence (Champigny) Dufour.
He graduated from Bentley College with a degree in accounting and was a founding member of the ski team. He was employed as a CPA for Price Waterhouse in New York and Boston. In the 1970s Mr. Dufour was a self-employed restaurateur, who owned and operated several Back Bay restaurants.
His hobbies and interests were hiking, skiing, kayaking, cooking, and classical music.
Members of his family include a foster son, Alfred Vaine and his wife, Christine, of Manchester; grandchildren, Claudia and Mercutio "MJ" Vaine; two brothers, Robert Dufour, of Salem, NH, and the late Richard N. Dufour of Exeter, NH; a sister, Lucille Lachance, also of Salem; several nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend and business partner, Gary C. Cooper, of Litchfield.
Plans for a memorial service at a later date are pending. Donations may be made to Easter Seals of NH, in memory of Mr. Dufour.
