Peter C. Foss

Peter C. Foss was born on March 18, 1948 in Dover, Massachusetts to Nathanial C. Foss and Irene V. Sprunt. He grew up in Grasmere, New Hampshire and attended the Goffstown school system, graduating in 1966. Peter served in the United States Coast Guard from November 1966 through September 1970, traveling half way around the world including a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Peter owned and operated Pete's General Store in the early 80's in the center of Grasmere. He later worked for the telephone company in various departments, ultimately retiring as a lineman (outside plant technician) in 1997. Having retired at the young age of 49, Peter entered the Real Estate field and worked part time over the next 14 years selling homes and land. He excelled in customer service, especially for first time home buyers.

He was an avid motorcyclist for over 50 years and traveled thousands of miles on his seven different bikes. He found great satisfaction on number home improvement projects, and was always striving for something out of the ordinary. Peter was seldom seen without one of his beloved Yorkies, either Peanuts, Smoke, or Taz (aka Tazman).

Peter is survived by his wife Jeannie, son Aaron and his wife Lou of Epsom, NH, his daughter Ericka of Keene, NH, his brother Nat Foss and his wife Ann of Palmyra, ME, his sister-in-law Marie Ann Foss of Goffstown, NH, his grandchildren Ashlee Foss and Derek Foss, and three great grandchildren, Amaya, Mathias, and Nickolas.

Peter was predeceased by his brother Charles Foss, his stepson Eric P. Gingras, and his sister Randi Hultz.

A memorial gathering will be held on September 30, 2025 at 3:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes on 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester, NH 03102, followed by a memorial service from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
