Philip I. Mitchell, Sr., 75, of Sebring, FL formerly of Epping, NH, died on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his home.
He was born on May 11, 1935 in Chelsea, MA. He was the son of the late Reginald and Glendola (Robinson) Mitchell.
After graduating from Stoneham High School, he entered the US Army.
Philip was a longtime resident of Epping. He was a former member of the Epping Volunteer Fire Department, formerly served as a sergeant on the Epping Police Department and owner of Phil’s Pizza and Sub Shop. He was also employed at ITT and Unitrode. He retired from Velcro USA in Manchester before moving to Florida.
While in Florida, he was the Vice President of the Hammock Estate Park Association.
He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Elizabeth (Williams) Mitchell; two sons: David Mitchell and his wife Susan of Kingston, Philip Mitchell, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Boscawen; three daughters: Dale Klemarczyk and her husband Paul of Barrington, Lori Dwyer and her husband William of Lempster, Janice Comtois and her husband Charles of Northwood. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm in the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 172 King Street, Boscawen, NH 03303. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10:30am in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
