PHYLLIS ELAINE (STEVENS) ROGERS

LITTLETON, NH  Phyllis Elaine (Stevens) Rogers, age 76, passed away on January 19, 2009 after a period of declining health, at the Lafayette Center in Franconia.

Phyllis was born on March 12, 1932, a daughter to Leon and Doris Stevens, in Berlin, NH. She graduated Valedictorian in 1950 from Lisbon High School. She went on to graduate from Mary Hitchcock Nursing School in Hanover in 1953 and held various positions as an RN throughout her 43 year career, including several years at Littleton Regional Hospital, Director of North Country Home Health Agency, Lafayette Genesis Center in Franconia, and Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield.

Phyllis loved to read and kept her mind alert not only with the bags of books from the library book sale, but also loved word games, crossword puzzles, cryptograms, and logic puzzles.

Surviving family members include two sons, Clark and Kendall Rogers, both of Littleton; one daughter, Kathryn Rogers of Manchester; four grandchildren Tanya, Katelyn, James, and Nicholas; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah, whom she preferred to call Cookie.

SERVICES -- The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22nd from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Daniel Sinibaldi as Celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your local library, Hospice Care provider, or charity of choice.
