Preston G. Briggs, 93, of New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 30, 1932, in Concord, NH, he was the son of George G. and Natalie E. (Fife) Briggs. He was raised and educated locally, where he built the foundation for a life defined by hard work and devotion to family.
Preston proudly served as a member of the National Guard. Throughout his life, he was known as a true “jack of all trades,” a man who could fix, build, or create just about anything. He was a self-employed carpenter, painter, and real estate agent. He later brought his compassion and care to others through his work as a CNA at Merrimack County Nursing Home.
A man who appreciated the value in all things, Preston enjoyed buying, selling, and trading. He also owned and operated an antique shop, and he took great pleasure in collecting coins and stamps. In his quieter moments, he found joy in woodworking and as a lover of animals, also enjoyed bird watching.
Above all, Preston was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who took great pride in his family.
He is survived by his children Linda Gerard, Janet Hrycuna, Joyce Houlihan, James Briggs, Steven Briggs, Michael Briggs, Diane Payzant, and Kenneth Briggs; his nephew, Ralph Wilson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his second wife, Gertrude (Obermueller) Briggs, and his third wife, Kathleen (Donovan) DeAngelis-Briggs.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, May 30th at 2:00pm at Phanuef Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street, Boscawen. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Andover, NH.
