Rachel A. Marchesseault

Rachel Alice Marchesseault, 95, of Goffstown, NH, passed away on April 22, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center. Born in Stanhope, Quebec, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie-Rose (Houle) Michaud. She shared 42 years of marriage with her husband, Gilles Marchesseault, who predeceased her in 1992.

Rachel was one of seven children and was raised in Coaticook, Quebec and has lived in the United States for the past 65 years. She worked as a seamstress for both Winwood and the Pandora Factory while raising her nine children. Rachel loved crafting and was especially fond of crocheting, knitting and quilting. She also enjoyed birdwatching and doing puzzles. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, she cherished time spent with her loved ones. She always had a smile on her face and lived to make others smile and laugh.

Rachel is survived by her   children, Lise Goulet, Fran Gelinas, Marcel Marchesseault, Leo Marchesseault and his wife Sue, Lucie Michaud and her husband Paul, Donald Marchesseault and his wife Jill, Irene Wright, and Helene Padva and her husband Thomas; her brother, Louis Michaud and his wife Suzanne; her grandchildren, Krissy, Kevin, Little Leo, Lisa, Eric, Michele, Nicole, Sydney, Sammy, Cassie, Aaron, Anna and John; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Rachel was predeceased by her son, Serge Marchesseault, her siblings, Raymond Michaud, Real Michaud, Cecile Beaulieu, Andre Michaud, and Lucien Michaud; her grandson, Ian; and her son-in-law, Richard Gelinas.

Rachel’s services will be held on Monday, April 29^th at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-11AM with a Funeral Service at 11AM. She will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
