Rachel E. (LaPalme) Roy, 66, of Manchester, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, after a long illness.
Born on January 22, 1942, in Manchester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ella (Auclair) LaPalme. She was a life long resident of Manchester.
Mrs. Roy was employed for 32 years at Elliot Hospital where she was an office worker. She was a communicant of Ste. Marie Church, in Manchester.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking.
Members of her family include; her 2 brothers, Edward LaPalme and Richard LaPalme, both of Manchester, 1 sister, Evelyn Lamontagne, of West Chester, OH; one stepson, Richard Roy of Spring Hill, FL; 2 step daughters, Suzanne Archer and Linda Freeman, both of Manchester; 7 step grandchildren, 6 step great grand children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger P. Roy, who died in June 1996.
Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4 â 8 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, 11:30 A.M. at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, in Manchester. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Manchester.
It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame, Manchester, NH 03102, in memory of Mrs. Roy.
