Dr. Raymond R. Farland, DDS

July 30, 1952 — August 26, 2025

Nashua

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Raymond R. Farland, DDS of Nashua, NH. He passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2025 with his loving wife Ali by his side.

He was born in Nashua on July 30, 1952 to Wilfred and Beatrice Farland. His surviving siblings include Gerry, Claire Plamondon, Janet Plamondon, and Donald. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and his family of in-laws, who enjoyed their time with him and Ali.

He married Ali on June 4, 1978. They shared 47 years together as husband and wife.

Dr. Raymond Farland graduated from Georgetown Dental School in 1984. After graduation, he returned to New Hampshire where he practiced dentistry in New Hampshire for over forty years. He opened his own practice in Chichester in 1996 and operated on it until he retired in 2024. He was known for his kindness and gentle demeanor with his patients who called him “Doctor Ray.” His patients were always a priority and often became friends. Dr. Ray did not take vacations!

Over the course of his life, Dr Farland challenged himself with pastimes that included home projects, landscaping, and gardening. His most celebrated were the outdoor patio and waterfall at which he shared meals with his wife Ali, family, and friends. He was an avid film buff, who enjoyed storytelling and adventure, most especially classic science fiction from the 1950s. He was at his most enthusiastic when listening to his collection of “Golden Oldies.” For most of his life, you would find him on a motorcycle. He even famously rode it in New England winters to and from school and work. He was known for his tremendous work ethic, which he used to rigorously study - and to tutor his fellow classmates - in his college years and through dental school.

Generous with his time, talent, and wit, he never failed to help when help was needed. Whether equipping his in-laws with an iPod full of hits on a road trip, funding family business ventures, taking his nieces and nephews to ski and rollerblade, or hosting homecooked Christmas celebrations. His favorite dishes to share with family were lamb, spanakopita, and ribeye roast. He bought a ticket to every raffle, event, or fundraiser that his family shared with him, and when he won, he would donate the winnings back to the organization.

He valued summers spent with his nieces Holly Rozzero (Moran) and Melissa Baleno (Moran), and his nephews Patrick Moran, Timothy Heskett, and Benjamin Heskett, whose only mission was “TO GET Uncle Ray,” something he enjoyed dearly. He was always up for a game of “Big Ball,” played with an inflatable beach ball and a volleyball net he hung in the backyard. According to his rules, dessert was not to be served until the game was finished.
