Raymond William Hannaford

Mr. Raymond W. Hannaford, 59, of Manchester died unexpectedly, Tuesday May 29, 2007 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. He was born on October 6, 1947 in Goffstown, NH the son of the Alice (Barry) Emery of Hooksett and her husband Charles and the late John Hannaford. He was educated in the Manchester School system. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Sweeney Post #2 in Manchester. He worked at Anheuser Busch in Merrimack for over 30 years before retiring nine years ago. Mr. Hannaford was a very devoted grandfather attending as many of the kid’s events as possible. He enjoyed taking flight in his paraplane and archery. He also enjoyed using his farm tractor and plowed all the neighbors’ driveways with it in the winter. He was predeceased by his son, Rodney Hannaford and his brother John Hannaford. Besides is mother, he is survived by his wife of 41 years Christine (George) Hannaford of Manchester; son, John Hannaford of Manchester; daughter, Kelly Hannaford of Concord; 4 sisters, Mrs. (Fred) Lorraine Herling of Manchester, Mrs. (Earnest) Pauline Bamford of Manchester, Mrs. (Tom) Nancy Bilodeau of Inglewood, FL, Mrs. (John) Dianne Mason of Hooksett; step brother, John Cleavitt of Hollywood, FL; 3 step sisters, Mrs. (Stanley) Linda Hesseltine of Milford, ME, Sharon Ramsey of Manchester and Mrs. (Mark) Lorraine Martin of Manchester; 7 grandchildren, Alexander M. Stanford of Concord, Bradley C. Hannaford of Manchester, Luke R. Hannaford of Sarasota, FL, Dylan T. Stanford of Concord, Derrik S. Hannaford of Sarasota, FL, Kayla M. Hannaford of Auburn and Nichole S. Stanford of Concord and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling Hours will be held on Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, corner of Union St, Manchester with military honors at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s memory can be made the Manchester VA Medical Center, 718 Smyth Rd, Manchester, NH 03104.
