RAYMOND HENRY MARSHALL
FRANCONIA, N.H. ---- Raymond H. Marshall, 85, formerly of Littleton passed away at the Lafayette Center in Franconia on August 19, 2003.
Born in Lancaster, N.H. on September 24, 1917, a son to Herbert and Florence (Johnson) Marshall. He graduated from the Lancaster Academy and earned his pilots license in 1936. He served in the U.S. Army Corps during WWII and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1950. Ray worked as a surveyor for the Brown Company for five years before starting his own forestry consulting and land surveying business. He married Lora Mary Carbonneau on July 15, 1956. Ray was a certified professional ski instructor and taught skiing at Cannon Mountain for over 20 years.
Ray enjoyed flying and his times skiing with friends and family in Tuckermans Ravine. He traveled extensively throughout North America with his wife and especially enjoyed his travels in British Columbia and Alaska.
He is survived by one son, Peter Marshall of Littleton, NH; one brother, Donald Marshall of Lancaster, NH; and one sister, Helen Merrill of Lancaster, NH.
SERVICES: Graveside services were held Thursday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Bascom officiating.
