RAYMOND HENRY MARSHALL

FRANCONIA, N.H. ---- Raymond H. Marshall, 85, formerly of Littleton passed away at the Lafayette Center in Franconia on August 19, 2003.

Born in Lancaster, N.H. on September 24, 1917, a son to Herbert and Florence (Johnson) Marshall. He graduated from the Lancaster Academy and earned his pilots license in 1936. He served in the U.S. Army Corps during WWII and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1950. Ray worked as a surveyor for the Brown Company for five years before starting his own forestry consulting and land surveying business. He married Lora Mary Carbonneau on July 15, 1956. Ray was a certified professional ski instructor and taught skiing at Cannon Mountain for over 20 years.

Ray enjoyed flying and his times skiing with friends and family in Tuckermans Ravine. He traveled extensively throughout North America with his wife and especially enjoyed his travels in British Columbia and Alaska.

He is survived by one son, Peter Marshall of Littleton, NH; one brother, Donald Marshall of Lancaster, NH; and one sister, Helen Merrill of Lancaster, NH.

SERVICES: Graveside services were held Thursday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Bascom officiating.
