Raymond “Ray” Leonard Methot of Goffstown (formerly of Manchester) was called to the Lord on August 31, 2024, at the age of 87 after a period of declining health. He was born on May 29, 1937, in Willimantic Connecticut, the son of the late Arthur Methot and Bernadette (Boutin) Methot. He was one of 13 children and his family moved to Manchester, NH in 1945 where he remained a longtime resident.
Ray graduated in 1955 from Ste. Marie High School in Manchester. Following his graduation he attended St. Anselm College and then continued on to Rivier College to complete his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1960. He then continued his education at Rivier College and received a Master in Science Degree in Biology in 1979. He then attended NH College and received a Master of Business Administration Degree in 1990. Ray worked at Notre Dame, Sacred Heart, and Catholic Medical Center as a medical technologist for over forty years, and worked at Parkland Medical Center for ten years as a medical technologist and medical laboratory manager prior to his retirement.
Ray had many hobbies including crafting from start to finish enough violins, violas, and cellos to supply an entire symphony orchestra. His other hobbies included acoustic research, stamp collecting, snow skiing, boating, water skiing, volleyball, star gazing, hunting, and photography. He enjoyed reading immensely and donated many of his books to St. Anselm College. He was also an avid traveler who prided himself in achieving his goal of traveling to all seven continents of the world. Italy was his favorite place, and he traveled there on several occasions.
Ray was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of Ste. Marie Parish. He loved attending the numerous family gatherings where he could be surrounded by his family whom he loved so much. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
Ray is survived by five siblings, Angele Morrisey, Alphee Methot, Clement Methot, Jean-Guy Methot and Paul Methot. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Joseph, Normand, Gerard, Rita, Marcel, Robert & Therese.

SERVICES: Calling hours for Raymond will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 4 to 7 pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester, NH 03102. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 9th at 10:00 am at Ste. Marie Parish, 133 Wayne Street, Manchester, NH. He will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
