Raymond J. Murphy, 66, of Bedford passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was surrounded by loving family.
Ray was born in Lewiston, ME February 20, 1954, one of eight children born to Raymond and Marion (McIntyre) Murphy. He moved to New Hampshire in his 20s, and had a long and innovative career which began at Data General and grew into owning his own successful IT Business.
Ray had many passions in life, but he particularly enjoyed boating and fishing, working with his hands, sci-fi and western movies, and spending time on the shooting range. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was well known for his special brand of sarcasm, but anyone who really knew Ray knew him best as a family man. Going out for breakfast with his wife and children was a regular occurrence enjoyed by all.
Ray is survived by his wife, Mary (Paget) Murphy; his daughter, Melissa Parks and her husband, Brad; his son, R.J. Murphy; and Mary's daughter, Emily, her husband Marc, and their children, Ben and Gwen.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piscataquog Land Conservancy online at https://plcnh.org/donation-front-page/.
