VRenauld J. Martel, 77, formerly of 65 Varney Street, died May 7, 2000, at Harris Hill of Genesis Eldercare, Concord, NH. He was born in Canada on July 1, 1922, the son of Ovila and Marie ''Flo'' (Lescartes) Martel and had been a resident of Manchester for most of his life. He was a WW II Army Veteran serving for eight years, worked for Waumbec Mills for 45 years and was a member of the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery and a past member of the American Legion Sweeney Post and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Family members include his wife of 51 years Laurette (Demers) Martel of Manchester, a son, Richard E. Martel of Manchester, his predeceased son Ronald R. Martel who died in 1975, a grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Edward (Simone) Cousins of Pinardville, several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
