Rene Denis

Rene Denis, 87, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on February 6, 2024. Born in Anse-a-Veau, Haiti, on May 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Laronce and Clara Denis. He was married to Carmen (Rousseau) Denis .

Rene lived in Haiti for over half his life. During his time there, he worked as a tailor. He lived in New Hampshire for over 30 years and worked in maintenance at St. Joseph Hospital and later Elliot Hospital. He enjoyed an active lifestyle and loved anything to do with fighting – especially boxing, wrestling and cockfighting. He also loved to watch action movies in his spare time. He was married to his beloved wife, Carmen Denis, for 57 years. They lived a wonderful life together by enjoying each other’s company, traveling, and taking care of their grandkids with unconditional love and support. Rene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all who knew him.

Rene is survived by his wife, Carmen Denis; his children, Carmita Denis, Carolle Denis and her husband Edwin Mejia, Guersonde Denis and his wife Darline Bazile, and Yves Denis and his wife Maguy Ba; his grandchildren, Evaney Denis, Tyler Beneche, Darson Denis, Darlly Denis, Saika Louiville, and Jerry Denis; his brother, Siguel Brunache; and his sisters, Lelienne Brunache and Elda Brunache.

Rene’s wake will be held on Friday, February 16^th from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 17^th at 10:00AM, St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 172 Belmont Street, Manchester, NH. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave, Manchester, NH.
