Rene A. Pinard, 82, of Manchester died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 7, 2012 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester on October 11, 1929 he was the son of Joseph and Doria (Jutras) Pinard. He was educated at Ste Marie School. Rene served in the Army during the Korean War as a Paratrooper in "M" Company (Wpns.) 3RD BN 508th Airborne Infantry of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was an expert rifleman and was school trained on the 75mm recoilless rifle, 81mm Mortar, .30 caliber machine guns and demolitions. Rene worked at J.F. McElwain, Velcro USA, and Mt Calvary Mausoleum. He was a wonderful and kind hearted man and his family and faith meant everything to him. Although attending daily mass was always a top priority he most enjoyed the comforts of home with his loving wife Lou. Rene loved his children and grandchildren and always enjoyed their visits and cherished time spent with them. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children, Bob, Denise, and Joelle and of their families. He loved his sisters, sisters-in law, and his buddies the brothers-in law. Rene enjoyed hunting with his son but loved fishing and ice fishing the most and was always sure to catch the first fish. In addition, he loved his weekly ritual of breakfast at Poor Boys on Saturdays with his son Bob. Rene was a big sports fan (as long as the teams were not from Boston), he also enjoyed watching wrestling, playing cards, word search puzzles, and had a special love for birds, especially for his white doves. Rene was a happy man with a simple love, a heart-warming smile and a wonderful sense of humor. All who knew him loved him and his parting means a great loss to his family and friends.
Rene shared nearly 55 years of marriage with his loving wife Lucille (Gagnon) Pinard. In addition to his wife he will be forever loved and remembered by his son Robert and his wife Christine of Weare, daughters Denise Remillard of Bedford and Joelle Lanteigne and her husband Douglas of Manchester. He has six grandchildren, Joshua, Brooks, Sara, Emily, Avery, and Cooper. His surviving siblings include Simone LeBel, Marcelle Audet, Cecile Pinard, Claire Brassard, Pauline Gruber, and Suzanne Biron. He was predeceased by brothers Armand and Conrad Pinard, and sisters Florese Pinard (Sr. Suzanne Marie PM), Irene Clougherty, and Lillian Gosselin. He also has many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
His family would like to give special thanks to Dr Fink, Dr Snow, and their staff at CMC Hospital as well as to the Community Hospice House in Merrimack for all of their wonderful care given to Rene and his family during his illness.
