Richard A. Morgan Jr., a dedicated family man and respected member of his community, passed away on December 23, 2025, at the age of 53. Born on January 19, 1972, in Maryland, Richard spent his formative years in Manchester, New Hampshire, and later resided in Weare, New Hampshire, where he graduated from John Stark Regional High School.

Richard had a distinguished career, devoting 20 years to the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. His commitment to service extended beyond corrections, as he also worked as a part-time firefighter in Weare, a role that showcased his caring nature and dedication to helping others. Richard was a proud veteran who served his country honorably for 23 years in the Army National Guard with the 744th Transportation Unit, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His service included participation in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Richard was a quiet yet remarkably intelligent individual, known for his excellent sense of humor. Friends and family often recognized him as a gentle soul, embodying patience, kindness, and humility. Richard sought perfection in all that he did earning him the affectionate nickname "Mister P" from those closest to him.

In his leisure time, Richard found joy in various hobbies, including shooting and honing his skills. He cherished moments spent with his family, especially the children, and was always eager to share new experiences with them. An avid reader, Richard delighted in immersing himself in a good book whenever possible. Additionally, he excelled in teaching, always ready to assist others in expanding their knowledge and abilities.

Richard is survived by his father, Richard Morgan and his wife Karen of Tennessee; his brother, Ken Morgan and his wife Lisa of Tennessee; his loving wife, Wendy Morgan of Manchester; his daughter, Jessica Furgal, and her partner Aaron Benson from Tennessee; as well as his son, Ryan Furgal and partner Brianna Guerrin of Manchester; his daughters, Tara Furgal and Emma Morgan of Manchester, and his cherished grandchildren, Aleeah Furgal, Braxton, and Carsten Benson of Tennessee. He will also be remembered by his niece, nephew, and cousins.

Richard was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Morgan Blanchette.

Friends and family are invited to honor Richard’s life at a memorial gathering on January 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, followed by a memorial service from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. Both services will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Manchester, New Hampshire. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Following services, the family will be having a gathering at Belmont Hall in Manchester, NH at 4:00 PM.

Richard will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
