Richard Arthur Robinson

After a courageous battle with cancer, Richard Arthur Robinson, 74, of Bedford, NH, passed away at Catholic Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on January 12, 2025. Born in Manchester, NH, on January 24, 1950, he was a son of the late Aubrey G. Robinson, Jr., and Virginia W. (Wiggin) Robinson. He shared 51 years of marriage with his wife, Charlene T. (Turgeon) Robinson.

Richard was raised in Bedford. He was a 1969 graduate of Manchester West High School and attended Keene State College. He worked for New England Telephone for 32 years. He then began a second career as a flight attendant for United Airlines and embraced the new journey for nearly 20 years.

Richard enjoyed time spent on his sailboat and was an active member of the Massabesic Yacht Club. In his younger years, he was an avid skier. He traveled to Europe many times with the Newport Travel Group and visited countless destinations as a flight attendant. However, his favorite vacations were annual cruises to Bermuda with family and friends. He loved cooking, often with a Bud Light in one hand and a spatula in the other.

Richard is survived by his wife, Charlene T. Robinson of Bedford, NH; his daughters, Ivy E. Robinson of Philadelphia, PA; Julie K. Robinson and her significant other, Ed Wallace, of Newburyport, MA; his sister, Patricia R. Dias of Bedford, NH; his brother-in-law, James Dias of Portsmouth, NH; his brother, Stephen Robinson and his wife Su of Pittsburg, NH; his grandchildren, Hannah and Alec Robinson-Tolstuk and Hope Wallace; his great-grandchild, Braylen Durant; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his beloved dog, Mikey.

Richard’s visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23 from 4PM-7PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 24th at 10AM at Bedford Presbyterian Church, 4 Church Road, Bedford, NH. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave, Manchester, NH.
