Richard D. Burns, 71, of 30 Clement Street, Manchester, died January 11, 2001, at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Manchester on June 3, 1929, the son of John and Rose (Lecuyer) Burns and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City. Richard was a U.S. Marine Veteran, served also in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and Army Reserve for over 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 79 and the Pointers Fish & Game Club. Richard retired from Nynex in 1989 with over 30 years of service and was a parishioner of St. Raphael Church. Family members include two sons, Thomas Burns of Manchester and Timothy J. Burns of Bedford, two daughters, Leeann Burns and Barbara Roy, both of Manchester, five grandchildren, a sister, Eileen Burns of Manchester, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Friday evening from 6 to 8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Raphael Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
