Richard Anthony Chapdelaine, 61, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away on October 11, 2026, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 14, 1964, Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Janet Chapdelaine, and together they built a family that was the center of his world.
Rick is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Zac Chapdelaine and his wife, Ally, of Boise, Idaho, Libbie Murray and her husband, Josh, of Litchfield, Jaime Roy of Manchester, and Chris Roy and Nicole Masson, of Manchester. He was a proud grandfather to Zoey, Madison, Emerson, Maeve, Taytum, and Romy.
Rick’s love for his family was matched by his love of baseball. Baseball was a huge part of his life from an early age. He played for many years and later spent countless seasons coaching, sharing his love of the game with the next generation. For Rick, baseball was about much more than the game itself—it was about the friendships, the memories, the lessons, and the time spent together.
He was also a lifelong New England sports fan, with a special place in his heart for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He loved watching his teams, talking sports, and sharing those moments with the people he loved.
Rick will be remembered most for the way he loved his family and for the countless memories he created with them. His presence, his stories, his sense of humor, and his love of baseball and New England sports will live on through his children and grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 23 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH, with a service to follow from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
Though he is deeply missed, Rick leaves behind a family who loved him immensely and a lifetime of memories that will be carried forward for generations to come.
He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
