RICHARD LEE CHOATE
LISBON, NH -- Richard Lee Choate of 40 South Main Street, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the age of 52. He was born in Woodsville, NH on September 4, 1955, the son of Carroll R. and Bessie (Dunn) Choate.
Richard graduated from Lisbon High School in 1973, and while in school, started working in the grocery store business. He became store manager at Northrop's Market for several years when it was under the ownership of John Northrop. In later years, he managed McTeague's IGA in North Woodstock and went on to own and operate his own IGA store in Peterborough, NH. He also managed the IGA in Claremont, NH before moving to Florida. While in Florida he continued in the grocery store business as manager of Publix.
Richard eventually moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to his family, and continued working in the grocery store business as long as he was able to.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. His interests were the grocery store business, hunting, fishing, watching sports, socializing with others and having a good time. He had a great sense of humor and could always make light of any situation; just ask anyone who knew him. Richard was a very kind, giving and loving man who always thought of others before himself. He never asked for much and didn't seem to have anything bad to say about anyone. He just wanted to live his life to the fullest like everyone else.
Richard was a good man and will be deeply and sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his parents Carroll and Bessie Choate, of Zephyrhills, Florida; his brothers, Raymond Choate and his wife, Janice, of Lisbon, NH,, Robert Choate and his wife, Debbie, of Belvedere, VT; his sister, Sandra Harris and her husband, Mike, of Hudson, NH; his son, Richard Choate, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Keene, NH; and his daughter, Audrey Choate of Lisbon, NH. Richard also enjoyed his four granddaughters, Kelly, Jocelyn, Erin, and Aydra; his three grandsons, Bryan, Michael, and Mason; his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
SERVICES A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Lisbon, NH with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
