Richard Ellsworth Converse, 63, passed away on May 25, 2017, after declining health over the past ten years, with his partner Erika at his side. He was born on February 6, 1954 in Framingham, MA, son of the late Marjorie Jarvis and Clint Converse.
Richard lived in Laconia, NH for most of his life. For the past three years he lived in Fort Walton, FL.
He worked at Laconia Shoe, but he was best known for cleaning up scrap metal and unwanted items.
Richard leaves behind his partner of sixteen years, Erika Bastek of Fort Walton, FL; one son, Troy Edgely of Laconia; two daughters, Tami Swain and husband Andy of Laconia, and Tory Edgely of Nashua; two sisters, Doreen Scovil and husband Ron of Loudon, and Brenda Beek and husband Kenneth of Mena, AK; two cousins, Nikki Adams and partner Chuck Currier of Corea, ME, and Rusty Adams of OH; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Along with his parents, Marjorie and Clint, Richard was predeceased by his grandmother, Marjorie Cline, and brother, John Converse.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and doctors, and all the staff at the Fort Walton Medical Center ICU. The family couldn't be with Richard, but you were there for him and gave him exceptional care. This care was very much appreciated by Richards family. The family would also like to thank the EMT's, Fire, and Police personnel. Without this special group of professionals Richard wouldn't have been given a second chance. Thank you so very much.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, 11am, at Park Cemetery in Tilton, NH. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
