Richard W. Fredrickson

On Friday April 9, 2021 Richard "Dick" W. Fredrickson Sr. of Concord, NH; passed away due to long term illness, at age 77. He died peacefully surrounded by family. Richard was born in Lawrence, MA on March 24, 1944 to Bror Fredrickson and Rosetta Orben (now deceased). He grew up in Salem, NH and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1962. He then attended New Hampshire College and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Accounting in 1966.

After graduation Dick became the youngest manager for Sears and Roebuck Corporate Office in Boston, in charge of their parts and service for New England. He went on to become an accountant and auditor at NH-VT Hospitalization Service in Concord, NH. From there he became Treasurer of Concord Hospital in 1971, where he worked for many years. After retiring from Concord Hospital, Richard went on consulting for small businesses in Concord as controller and in accounting.

Richard served on various boards including Riverbend and Concord Hospital, where he served as Treasurer of the Board. He was a member of the Christian Servants of IHM. He served as membership chairman for Cub Scout Pack 295 for several years. As a father of four, he was always willing to serve as an assistant coach, manager, field trip leader, fund-raiser or anywhere else he could support his kids. When he wasn't working he could usually be found at one of his kids' sporting or club events almost daily.

"Mr. Fred" as many fondly called him, was a skilled carpenter who with the help of friends and family rebuilt an old camp into a year round home on Suncook Lake. He loved fishing and boating and spending time on the lake. Among his many joys was giving his kids and friends boat rides and pulling them skiing and tubing around the lake in the summers. In the winter you could find him on the slopes almost every weekend with his family. Other hobbies included stained glass, fly-fishing, reading, card games, cribbage, square-dancing, and traveling. He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, the Florida Keys, Bermuda, Las Vegas, the Bahamas, and driving cross-country from LA to New Hampshire.

Richard had a memorable sense of humor and a booming voice. He will be missed as a friend, a father, a husband and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Sandra "Pierce" Fredrickson of Concord, NH. He leaves behind his children Kimberly Fredrickson, Richard "Rick" Fredrickson Jr., Ryan Fredrickson of Concord and Kevin and his wife Christi Fredrickson of Bow. His five beloved grandchildren include: Ireland, Parker, Connor, Tyler and Colton Fredrickson.
