Richard A. Lavoie, 69, of 193 Cameron Street, died January 10, 2003 at his residence with his family and friends by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Manchester on December 28, 1934, the son of Albanie and Rita (Bouthiette) Lavoie and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a member of the Army National Guard for 17 years. He had retired from Land Air Express and had also worked at Dobles Chevrolet as a parts delivery man. Prior to that, he had been employed at Holmes Transportation for 17 years. He enjoyed camping and was a member of the Merrimack Valley Pioneers and Freedom Campers. He also belonged to the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post #2 and was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church. Family members include his wife of 45 years, Diane (Roberge) Lavoie; two daughters, Debra Heath of Manchester and DeeAnn Riehl of Goffstown; three grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth Lavoie of Hampton, Donald Lavoie and David Lavoie both of Bedford; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. In His Life: He enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren, Christopher Heath, Matthew Riehl and Timothy Riehl and going to their various sporting events. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
