Richard E. Lavoie, 81, of 488 Bartlett Street, died April 23, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Nashua on July 8, 1927, the son of the late George and Annie (Witcher) Lavoie and had been a sixty year resident of Manchester. He worked for Caron Box and Lumber Company for 33 years. He loved camping and trying his luck on scratch tickets. He will be remembered as a hard worker and loving husband, father and grandfather. Family members include his wife of sixty years, Lucille (Janelle) Lavoie; two sons, Dennis Lavoie and Leo Lavoie, both of Manchester; four grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 6 to 7 PM. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 PM.
