Richard Philip Manseau, 53, of Manchester NH, passed away on September 17, 2021, at Elliot Hospital, with his family by his side after a 3 ½ month battle with lung cancer.
Born on July 28, 1968, to the late Robert, Sr. and Helen (Dunn) Manseau. Dick was a lifelong resident of Manchester and worked for the City of Manchester, Departments of Parks and Recreation and Public Works for over 25 years.
Dick was extremely reliable and known as a hard worker who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Dick was very kind and always helpful to his many nieces and nephews. He had a great sense of humor and loved to have fun. He was known as “Uncle Dick” to many family members.
Dick loved to go fishing and camping with his friends and taught his young daughter Samantha how to fish. Dick also spent many winters ice fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee with many of his lifelong friends and caught a trophy fish during the Winni Derby. Dick also attended Shiloh Community Church for a time, volunteering with spring cleanups and other activities.
Dick is survived by his daughter Samantha Wright and her husband Matthew of Nashua, sisters; Valerie Manseau, Karen DeLangie and her husband John, Tracy Bowser and her husband Daryl, and brother, Robert Manseau, Jr. all of Manchester, nieces, and nephews; John DeLangie Jr., Erin Trott, Joe DeLangie, Brandon Manseau, and Lexi Manseau, 10 great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25th, from 12 to 3 pm with a memorial service starting at 3 pm at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester. Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 28th at 11 am in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick’s memory may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Manchester, 555 Union Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
