Richard P. Dick Martin, 74, of Auburn, died at his residence on May 21, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born in Methuen, MA on November 17, 1935, the son of the late Joseph and Lucille (Raymond) Martin and had been an Auburn resident for the last 46 years. He had worked for 30 years at Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack until his retirement in 1999. Prior to that he worked for Chism Machinery in Derry. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 633. He loved to golf, watch the Red Sox, and hike. He was also a skilled auto mechanic and a jack of all trades. The most important thing in Dick's life was his family. His greatest joys were spending time with his best friend Peg, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a friend to all and foe to none. In His Life: Family members include his wife and soul mate of 56 years, Marguerite Peg Martin; a son, Steven Martin and his wife Wendy of Weare; two daughters, Donna Trafton and her husband Edward of Raymond, and Kathy Harkins and her husband E.J. of Saratoga Springs, NY; nine grandchildren, Chris Martin, Craig Martin, Adam Martin, Jason Trafton, Kristin Bernier, Rick Trafton, Corey Harkins, Dan Harkins and Casey Harkins; six great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Martin of MA; a sister, Marcelle Sykes of Pelham; and nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson, Shaun Martin. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
