Richard Nourie, 70, of Manchester NH, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on December 19th, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Manchester, NH to Francis and Ida (Vincent) Nourie on June 15th, 1948, Richard would go on to spend the rest of his life in the Manchester Area. It was in Manchester that Richard would meet the love of his life, Jane, with whom he shared 49 years of loving marriage.
Richard proudly served his country for 4 years as a Naval Intelligence officer for the US Navy during the Vietnam war, and was proud of his service for the entirety of his life. A dedicated and hard worker who always provided for his family, Richard enjoyed a long and fulfilling 39 years of employment at the US Postal service, where he had many long-term friends and colleagues.
Richard will be remembered as a true outdoorsman who had a passion for spending time outside, especially while fishing. Inherited from his father, fishing was a past time that Richard loved deeply, and was proud to have shared with his friends and family. He spent many years fishing and going to fishing derby's on Lake Winnipesaukee, and will be remembered for his signature catch-phrase "Thank you Jesus" for every time he hooked a fish. He also enjoyed hunting, canoeing, and going to the movies with his many friends after retirement. Above all, Richard loved his family, immensely, and will be greatly missed this Christmas season.
