Listen to Obituary

Richard Wayne Rose, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Hudson, New Hampshire, on Tuesday May 19th, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Hudson on May 13, 1943, he was the beloved son of Ralph and Catherine (Masterson) Rose and spent his life building strong roots in the community he cared so deeply about.

Dick was the devoted husband of Beverly Rose, sharing a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering partnership. Together they created a home where family always came first.

A proud graduate of Lowell Technical Institute, Dick earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1967. He later became the owner and CEO of diggins & Rose Moving & Rigging, Inc. in Hudson, where he earned the respect of colleagues, employees, and friends through his integrity, determination, and generous spirit. He believed in doing things the right way, treating people fairly, and lending a hand whenever it was needed.

Beyond his career, Dick dedicated much of his life to serving others and giving back to the community he loved. He was one of the original founders of a Boy Scouts of America program for mentally challenged youth, an accomplishment that reflected his compassion and belief that everyone deserved encouragement, opportunity, and belonging. He also served on the Board of Directors for St. Joseph Hospital and the Veterans Count organization in Nashua, continuing his lifelong commitment to helping others.

Dick will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet wisdom, and the way he could make people feel welcome and valued. He enjoyed time with family, conversations with friends, and watching the generations of his family grow. His greatest pride was always the people he loved.

He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Rose.

Dick leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Beverly Rose; his loving son, Adam Rose and wife Tracey Rose of Oceanside, California, his daughter Allison Watson and her husband Troy Watson of Las Vegas, Nevada, his stepdaughter, Kimberley Santeusanio of Berwick, Maine; his stepson, Bradford Hazen and wife Jennifer Hazen; six cherished grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of kindness, generosity, and strength.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Dick’s life was one well lived — defined not only by professional success, but by love, service, loyalty, and compassion for others.
