Richard S. Thornton

Richard S. Thornton, 58, of 235 Concord Street, died September 16, 2001, at Ridgewood Health Care, Bedford, NH. He was born in Manchester on May 14, 1943, the son of Isabella (Mitchell) Thornton and the late Frederick Thornton and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City. Richard previously owned and operated Salt Marsh Oil and later was a CNA at various local health Care Firms. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Family members include two sons, Jeff Thornton of Goffstown and Brian Thornton of Hooksett, a daughter Robyn Thornton of San Diego, California, his mother of Candia, two brothers Edward Thornton and Harry Thornton, both of Candia, two sisters Lynn Thornton of Raymond, NH and Marion Malack of Grottes, Virginia, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Tuesday evening from 7 to 9. The service will be held in Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help the victims and families of the World Trade Center and Pentagon disaster in care of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund,P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.
